This is brilliant. You remove Garfield from some of Davis’s comics, and you get a much stranger, funnier, and creepier comic. Make sure to look through the archive.
Reformed Education Galore
March 10, 2008I have very recently realized how much time I spend at my library job doing activity that really doesn’t require much thinking. I have also realized the wealth of lectures and sermons that my seminary carries, as well as all that has been made freely available on the internet. So, with the help of my trusty iPod, I listened first to a class that John Frame taught on epistemology called “The Knowledge of God.” Very good, even with my limited knowledge of philosophy.
Next, when I drove up this last weekend to Louisville, KY to see the Lady sing with her choir on tour, I listened to a set of lectures given at a 2006 conference at Regent College, Vancouver (where J. I. Packer teaches) called “Fundamentalisms and Modern Culture.” (Andrew’s George Marsden was one of the speakers.) Finally, after poking around a bit on the internet, I stumbled across Reformed Theological Seminary’s project to put many of their courses on the internet, called RTS on iTunes U. It has a bunch of full courses from RTS to download for free. Also, a certain blogger (who shall remain anonymous to protect her well-hidden identity) has recently written about resources on Covenant Seminary’s web site, and I would also mention again the wonders of the classes that Covenant has put up on their web site called Covenant Worldwide. I know that all the people and institutions involved have to make money in order to carry on their ministry, so I am very thankful that most of these things are absolutely free on the internet. Nothing can replace a classroom experience, but for those who can’t just devote a few years of their life to a seminary education, it is nice that they can access educational material to learn at their own pace. Even for those of us who are in seminary, it is nice to hear basic classes (e.g., Church History or Systematic Theology) taught by different professors without the trouble of having to seek those professors out.Success!
March 8, 2008Included was a coupon for a free Kellogg’s product up to $5 value. [Note: I edited the letterhead to remove name and address. For those confused, see this post.]
